Hello everyone.

Hi. My name is Andrew, I’m (just) the wrong side of 60 and I live in Hoyland which is just on the edge of Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
I’ve recently acquired a 1976 GT 500 in blue which is a hark back to my first bike an AP50 in the same colour back in 1977.
I had many two stroke Suzukis in the 70’s and 80’s, most of them the TS trail bikes including, and not in any order 125, 185, 250. I had at the same time as the 185 an X7 which I did a bit of tuning (open up the reed blocks, match the transfer ports to the crankcase, upped the compression a bit and fitted expansion chambers). It was bloody fast and could keep up with RD 350’s and 400’s. Next was a GT550 which sadly was written off when a car pulled out in front of me. Then came the four strokes, 650 Katana, Z650, and quite a few Hondas.
The GT is a runner and in quite good condition and benefits from recently having the crank done. It’s not a show pony nor do I intend on making it one but I will be refreshing a few fasteners etc.
Thanks for having me along, I’m no stranger to forums and once I’ve had a look around will attempt to put up a pic of the new(old) gal. Cheers.
