Does anyone have any extra 34mm Mikunis under the workbench? I will need three all together.
Thanks
Mark

What kind of 34mm carbs?

1/ Aluminum bodied aftermarket VM34

2/ Zinc small body VM34 from a snowmobile that are the same size externally as a VM32 fitted to GT750 J & K

3/ TM34 - I only have TM32

4/ TMX34 from a self with curved flat slides

I have type 2, 3(32mm flats) and 4 in triple sets all used and in good condition. What I don't have are three regular aftermarket, or TD/TR/TZ, VM34s which is what I suspect you were asking about.

You suspect correctly! I'm looking for VM34 carbs. I should have been clearer but I don't even think about the flat slide stuff as an option, although others might. I may wind up with a set of three VM34mm Kawasaki H2 carbs to have the jetting somewhere in the ballpark as a start.

What are they going on? The reason I ask is that regular VM34 on a GT750 foul the crankcases above the clutch. That's why I grabbed a set of small body 34mm carbs for one of my projects. I got as far as cleaning them but never ran them.

H2 carbs on a Suzuki. For some reason I thought that the H2 had 30mm carbs stock.

If they are going on a 550, I think they are larger than the motor can use from the MOTA sims I did a couple of years back. Of course if you are putting them on a lean green machine, that's a whole different story.

The 34s on my GT750 fit but I had to grind some material off the right-hand drain plug to clear the clutch.

H2 guys ran 34mm round slide carbs as a mod. Hoping to find a take off set from a Kaw guy maybe doing a resto. One piston port 750 to another, the carbs won't care! ;-)
I'm building a custom GT750 along the lines of Lane's Blue Boy.
I've never seen small body 34mm mikunis. Are they bored up 30mm small bodies?

Almost. They look like a small body say 30mm carb but I think they are a different casting. They are basically the same height as the J/K VM32 carb and much shorter than a regular VM34SS. They use a 166 series NJ which is 1mm shorter than 159 series and has a thinner flange at the top. I think that the 480 series may have replaced the 166 but can't swear to that. The upper half looks almost identical to a regular 34, but the float bowl and internal structure is a little different.

They have bras slides and independent floats.

They have a 40mm OD on the outlet side and I used Lane's trick to JBWeld a sleeve around that to match the stock BS40 type intake rubbers. PM me your email address and I'll take some pictures side by side with VM32 and regular VM34
