You have a GS400? So do I, at least most of one..... Mine is a '78 model.

Mine's a 1977 - been a while since I played with 4-strokes so I've been putting it off but I do need to do something with it eventually. I've toyed with the idea of putting one of my T/GT500 engines into it but we'll see .....

Ian,

Is the GS400 a two valve per cylinder motor or 4?

I really liked my GS400,. through my own fault I burned a valve nad through my own stupidity, ruined the cylinders. Lack of money for parts for a loooong time ruined the rest of the bike. Well lets say it was un-economical to fix everything back to proper condition. That's why I have a GT500 that I could have sunk the money into the GS and a lot of work.... Still on the fence about fixing it. At least I can ride the GT while working on the GS? I found a '70's BMW that needs restoring, will probably opt to do it instead if I can get it for the right price. It has been sitting up for at least 18 years. But I know I will get more value back from the Beemer than the 400.
