Looking to trade boxsection Dresda style Swingarm for the right style cafe seat for my GT250 Cafe Racer. The swinger will fit a T250, GT250, T305, T350, T500 and GT500. On the larger bikes it will shorten the wheelbase.

What is "the right style" Eric?

Do you need a Vesco big butt style or Crooks Suzuki or a TR750 look?

Eric,

That swing-arm steel or aluminum? If it's steel, how heavy is it?

The box section arm is steel. The seat I really would like is a bumstop style but if I can get some pics it would be helpful to see what ya'all got.

The Crooks is a bumstop, right? Had a big butt seat on my first T500 racer, butts not that big anymore, at least "I" don't think it is.

Or maybe I should ask my wife, "Sweetheart, does my butt look big in this seat"? :wth:

DANGER! DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Never ask that question because then it's fair game for her to ask you the same thing one day. And you know there is NO right answer to that question!

I can second John's endorsement of Ragged Edge. I bought a early style RG500 seat from him and the quality is top notch. Shipping was a bit painful though.

Prices are good but shipping is what I am concerned about. I would rather trade if I can.

I'm kinda going for this look with a lot more trick stuff added. The bike will probably see the track as well as be a street bike and will have a T350 topend on it.

I think I have a seat like that but TZer replied first so I don't want to mess up any deals he may want to make. I also have the big butt seat you were using on your T500 if you want that back!

Of course now I'm wondering why you wouldn't want to use the Dresda swing arm on this project? Or are you going stock with the swing arm due to the potential track use of the bike?

I am using the aluminum DG type swingarm I had made for this. It is going to have a 2.15 front rim and 2.50 rear rims shod with Avon 90-90/18 front and 110-80/18 rear. Till I get the Avons it will have some BT45s in similar sizes on.

Jim, Go ahead. After you sir.

My questions were really to see what Eric was thinking. I do have a couple of spare Yamaha TZ seats including a new Airtech big butt that I bought for a TZ250A I sold last year, but I will be able to use them all somewhere on something if I live to be 100.

I used one of these on my '75 GT250:

Came out pretty well, IMHO:

Bike is looking good. I have traded diamondj for a nice seat a little different from yours.
