GT750 - $400 in Michigan

I'm listing this for Matt who I met at the Gilmore Vintage Bike Show a few weeks back. He had planned to build a cafe bike out of it but lost interest. I was told it was a '74 but most of the parts in the picture appear to be '75. Could be a nice build if someone's looking for a project.

Here's what he said about it:

It is 90% complete. The motor, exhaust, radiator, rolling frame, tank, side panels are all there. I do not want to sell bits and pieces but more a complete package for $400. The motor is all there minus the small round covers on each side. The guy I got it from had the motor running about a year or two ago. Great compression and spark.

I ended up picking the bike up from Matt last weekend for $100. I'll be listing some of the parts here in the next few weeks once I have a chance to survey what I have. I'll likely keep the engine and tank, see what I can get for whatever else is salvagable, and scrap the rest. Once I got it home the first thing I did was pat the bike and apologize for it's hard life. It's safe to say this bike's had a few abusive relationships. At some point the front end was swapped out and after a lot of searching last night I was able to narrow it down to being from a 1973 Yamaha TX650. Later a chain broke and destroyed the upper/lower case flanges, cover, and gear indicator which is likely what killed it. Either that or the two-up seat and ape handlebars. So that's the bad. The good is the engine appears to have great compression and only 8K on the odometer. If anyone's looking for some GT750 parts I'll be posting a list soon, otherwise if you see something you need let me know.
