Am rebuilding a 75 GT750 engine. Need to replace a few of the gears.

You need to be careful there, its best to buy a complete set of gears as a set, and to pick a year with the ratios you desire as they made changes during the range of 72 to 77.

Where in SW PA. are you? I'm a mile off exit 67 of the Pa. turnpike. I've got a complete motor with carbs that turns (and probably runs) you can have for $150. Not sure of the year but guessing it's a 74-75.

Djfisher22, thanks for the offer. That adds another option to the list. I'm also located near the same Turnpike exit.

Suzsmokeyallan, thanks for the insight. In researching this I happened across your videos on using a GS transmission in a GT750.

Definitely interesting. Don't know if it would be any easier to find a GS750 transmission in excellent condition.

Am sorting thru the issues...
My engine cases have brown color code, so I need yellow color coded 1st & 2nd driven gears.
Then there are the gear ratio changes for the different model years.
Then there is the gear strength improvement listed in Service Bulletin GT-29.

Thanks for the comment about my upgraded transmission videos. I really need to redo them and make it more detailed as there was a lot I did not include in those two videos from years ago.
For best all around riding/touring I personally like the stock 75/76 year model ratios of the transmission when also using a 15/43 final drive.
The GS 750 upgrade mainly cures the spline issues, the first to second cluck and lowers the first year so its not as tall. Given the cost of used GS transmissions on ebay its worth doing if you have the time and a lathe.
Plus its fun to re-engineer parts if you're game for such shop antics.
