Must be the same model style, with the 2 eye hole mounts located in the corners by the plastic inner fender. I'm not particular about a fair mount of rust or pitting, just no large amounts of either. No dents or dings. Please message me, if you can help a guy out.

The correct 76 fender had no holes in the section by the frame loop and two extensions on the lower front corners where it bolted to the frame just in front of the rear shocks.
I say correct as some 76 bikes got 75 fenders and mounting points to confuse the issue with the parts people and there is no mention of a serial number update.
If yours is the first type I mentioned, a 77 rear fender is the same as well and they are not easy to locate. Most on ebay are nos so you will be paying quite a bit for one.
Paul Miller was the only seller recently who had one a while back for sale, but I dont have to tell you what his price was.

Thanks, Allan. I have been finding out the scarcity part. I had this exact fender on my bike. But, like an idiot I gave it to someone because I had bought what I thought was a better one off Ebay. I found out recently, that new fender seemed to be from a 380 as it is about a half inch shorter in width and simply will not work. This is the style I am referring to. Is it the correct one for the 76 ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/321154702744?ss ... 1438.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes thats the style of rear fender you need for a correct 76/77 bike. There is a seller that has many aliases on ebay from that region of the US and he has a less than stellar reputation.

I know bud. I would rather go fenderless, than to buy that particular one. It was just a reference to show you. What are my other options ? I assume, all 750 models would work ? On parts fiches, it shows the same matching part numbers for the 750 and 550. But, I measured my 75 550 fender width and it too is about a half inch short.

Well you could in a pinch use a 72 to 75 fender and I believe your frame loop still has the two holes in it. You would then need an inner fender with the two holes as well.
Even the 72 to 75 fenders had a styling change, earlier ones have large OD 6mm nuts welded to the fender inner part for the loop bolts to go into, while the later ones just have the holes and you have to use separate nuts.

I know I should probably not tell you this as its a deal breaker. I have that rear fender that you are looking for in NOS condition but I really don't want to part with it.
I will keep my eyes out for one on ebay for you though in my searches.
