For sale

GT550 05-72 manufacture with that great looking 4LS front brake. Completely original and "ready to be delivered" :? .

Image

The left crank oil seal has failed and I am sourcing a set of seals to send the crank to Bill Bune for a rebuild. I have partially stripped the motor to determine the problem and the carbs are on the bench and will go in the ualtrasonic cleaner tomorrow.

I have too many projects and would like to sell it as it stands, but for the right buyer I am prepared to rebuild the motor and or chassis to make it run right and look even better.

I'll clean off all the old oil and grime and the bike is available as-is or with the frame painted or powder coated. I can chemically clean the engine cases and polish the outer covers or that can be left to the new owner. Lots of choices.

There's a lot of flexibility if someone is looking for a project. Lots of flexibility depending on what a buyer is looking for and what work they would like to do themselves

PM me for more details.

I just realized that it's worth a lot more as parts but I'd rather not go down that road.

 Please Don't sell her for parts....I really don't like to see a complete bike broken down...as this is really another bike "lost" instead of being ridden & enjoyed !!
I'm sure someone will give her a good home ? 8)
Cheers,

For me, that's the best looking model and that colour too. I had one like that back in 1972 - the first one in our area. I've got a J, 2xKs and an A now. First K under rebuild, t'others waiting their turn.

I agree. It's a good looking bike. So today I ordered some more parts and cleaned out the carbs. That took a while and I need to replace some brass and gaskets and they'll be good to go.
