I took my petcock apart to rebuild since it has a drip when the engine is running and found I was missing fuel cock T seal (#7 below). The seal has a valley on one side and not sure which side goes in. Looked through forum but could not find an answer to it. Also it seems when the seal is installed, the backside of the turn handle is not going to seat directly on the 4 hole gasket due to this seal. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks ///Pat

Re: Petcock assembly question
The seal goes in with the flange lip facing out towards the front plate. It was more of a counter measure to stop any weeping but if you have a leak its not coming from this part but from the four hole rubber. Look at the handles inside face to see if its pitted, if it is not too bad you can sand and polish it so it does not tear at the four hole gasket when you are moving the lever.
Two strokes, its just that simple.
