Sometimes deposits can be hard as concrete. It helps to pick at it with spring puller tools. Some of those tools come with a few different bends that allow you to get into awkward angles or tight crevices. I once got a crappy bowl off Ebay that was filled with concrete like gum deposits. I tried every method under the sun to remove it. I was going to pitch in the trash if boiling it in hot water didn't work. Worked very well to my surprise. It has to be extremely hot water, though.
Have you tried that method with the carb bodies? Does the phenolic care?

No, I never tried it on the bodies. There's no need. Gas or deposits don't reside there for the most part. Hard to remove concrete like deposits in the bowls are due to gas laying for long periods of time. The hot water won't clean like a soda blaster. It only does a good job at lifting those deposits.

Try CLR for concrete like deposits, but don't leave parts in for any length of time. A few minutes is all it takes for the acid to eat any calcified deposits.

I can't believe how well the Berryman worked on my float bowls. <5 mins soaking and all of the varnish was loose and off. All of those starter jets were clear. I shot carb and choke cleaner as well as compressed air through them in both directions.

Tomorrow I will try to survey the parts and see what I have vs what is missing from these carbs.
