carburetor boots for the Suzuki GT550

Post by wolf_t »

I'm looking for some carburetor boots for the Suzuki GT550 without spending a lot.

Some guy in a German GT forum found this:

http://schreiber-zweiradshop.de/Bowdenz ... zuege.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They will fit with some modification and are really cheap. :up:

Anyone knows where to find something like this in the US?

On page 6 of the following thread, a guy ingeniously made a set out of an old blasting glove. Check it out.

I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

A perfect fit is a RC truck axle boot, they are $5 for 4 of them you can get them in neoprene so the modern fuel with ethanol in it doesn't melt them. They worked so good and the for is so perfect you don't even need the clamp for them lol. I got the rubber ones for. 99 cents apiece wroth $2 shipping mine are perfect and they are rubber axle boots for 1/5 baja gas powered off road rc truck. Lol its cheap and works perfect

Just remember. You mostly get what you pay for.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Which is the exact reason to stay away from Cruisinimages boots. They look and feel nice. But, are utter junk. No reinforcement inside. Which causes the boots to split open. Mine were 2 months old and split open, installed without ever touching them on my 750. Which, I'd be willing to bet the 550 boots are made the same. Then the seller completely avoids the situation when you have a problem.
