I need help removing my baffle from my 1972 T500. I have removed one but can get the other out without damaging the bike. Any ideas?

Hmm perhaps you can adapt a slide hammer or make something similar. If possible run the engine and get it nice and hot will help.

I’ve had luck with a long piece of broken broomstick by pounding it out from the small end with a large rubber mallet if the exhaust and long pipe separates from the head pipe. Whatever method, it looks like you’ll need a new baffle as that one is/ will be trashed. Heating it at the stuck baffle end with a small propane or MAP gas torch is also an option but if you elect to try that, take the pipe off and be outside in case of fire. Always have a fire extinguisher handy too!

I had a tough time as well. I had to use a ton of heat and oven cleaner. Even then, it was tough to get out. I eventually got it out by slamming it onto a piece of soft wood.
