You can't post photos directly onto this board - you have to host the photo elsewhere and link it. Basically the space has been used up and additional storage would cost some coin.jr_addict wrote:.. everytime I try to upload a picture it tells me the file is too big

Re: 73 ts185 turn signal help
I have a 72 ts250 so basically the same system. all of the above plus make sure the stock relay is grounded. There a piece of braid that frequently dissapears that goes to the mounting screw. My relay was intermittent so i changed it to an electronic 6v model. Yes they are available. Also in 73 they went to a slightly bigger batter (i think 2 ah to 4 ampere hour). You will need a 73 battery box which you can find on e-bay cheap. That fixed mine. The stock relay sucks.

Check the fuse first of all and make sure the battery is charged.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: 73 ts185 turn signal help
Circling back on this - recall what Alan suggested earlier. You said the bulbs are 8 watts ? If you check the parts listings, the relay part number seems now to be 38610-05X50 so I looked for a photo of that:

So either 17 or 18 W times 2 bulbs (front and rear) plus the indicator lamp. The parts listing shows the bulbs as being 6V and 21CP, which is around 17W I think. If your bulbs really are only 8W then you will not have enough load to make the flasher do its thing. You can probably test that by hooking all 4 of the 8W bulbs to the same side of the circuit - if that works, then you know you have to find the right bulbs.

I am going to assume that silence means success
Or is it still not working ?

No idea. There are loads of parts listings available on line - try Partzilla. Their listings are pretty good.jr_addict wrote:Ok i have a Quick question can i get a relay from a different model year and use that instead of the Original part meant for the bike
Did you try hooking up all the signal lights in series as suggested to see if the relay you have works and also to confirm/refute whether you have the right light bulbs ?

Re: 73 ts185 turn signal help
Flashers are pretty generic items. Just need to get a 6V flasher that is labeled for use with your turn signal bulb wattage.
Just did an eBay search for “6v suzuki turn signal flasher” & got a few cheap choices that should work fine.
