Find another machine shop the guy obviously has never rebored a piston ported two stroke before !
The chances of your barrel being correctly sized with the ports correctly chamfered by him are slim.
Hope you find a good machine shop.

AS far as the bearings go, if all are in good condition, leave them alone. Put that money elsewhere. I understand about not having to worry (at least less) with all new parts, but bearings can be an expensive thing to deal with, especially if they are pressed in. That is an extra expense for extra work to replace them. I have a '76 GT500, but if all the original bearings are good, they stay. All seals, o-rings and gaskets will be new though. I am in the process of clearing some storage room, so I can begin to overhaul my bike. Sending the crank off for new seals and rod big end bearing upgrades is going to be my biggest hassle. Almost bought a 1974 GT185 with 1400 miles on it, for $400.00, wifey took her sweet time to come look at it, so it got sold that morning that we came in the afternoon. Lesson, don't wait for wife, buy bargain NOW, or you WILL lose it! Good luck with the restore, it will be worth it.
