Suzuki 2 Strokes

In all the years I have rebuilt carbs, I have NEVER removed these. Never saw any need to.. So my question is how do I install these? How far in do they go? I see the slots end in a taper. To me that's not a very positive stop. Do I put a block under the main jet tower and push these in till they bottom on the block? I'm fixin to put a couple of carbs together and I need to know how to do this.
Other questions. Is it safe to polish the oxidation off with some hand held scotch-brite? Anyone know the thickness of the main jet washers. I'm sure I have them in this tub of parts, but the online fiche doesn't specify the washer size. any and all help appreciated.

I usually send mine through the sonic cleaner but I also soak them for a few minutes in CLR or LimeAway and if they are really really bad, I hit them with a wire brush on the dremmel.

Drop them in from the top and carefully line up the slot and the tiny steel peg. If they need a slight press to seat them I double check the pin-slot alignment and then press down lightly with a chop stick as the press tool.

The main jet washer is brass and is 5mm bore, OD matches the tube that the needle jet sits in and thickness is a couple of mm. I can measure one if necessary.


If you have a chance could you measure one for me from bottom to top of the flange, overall length and flange thickness plus bleed hole diameter. Thanks

I'll measure one up and probably send it a PM. I have a small sonic cleaner (3 1/2 dia. X 2 deep) made for jewelry. I'm going to run these, the mains and the pilots for an hour or so. What solution will brighten the brass? Vinegar? Can't use harsh chemicals as the cleaner is plastic.

Try simple green or similar but very dilute

Are they all the same jet ? Its something how the hole in the top of these can get ovaled out just from the needle sawing away at them
