Gas gets old. Does oil?

My current GT550 project was last tagged in 2006. I have to assume it hasn't run since then. The oil tank is brim full of what appears to be CCI. It's green. Do I drain this out for future use in maybe a year or so or is it time to bring it to the recycle depot? Seems a waste to just throw it away.

I'm sure someone will disagree out there. As long as there isn't moisture floating at the top. I would use it only being 8 years old. It's not like it's been ran through a crankcase or combustion chamber for several thousand miles. I could tell you a somewhat long true story about how long oil does last. But, I don't want to bore anyone. My opinion would be different if it had been sitting in a crankcase. But, it hasn't. I'd run it in the bike and not sweat it. Good or bad, it won't ruin the motor. As you know. CCI oil is used once, it doesn't get recycled.
