My birthday today.....

and I holed a piston!! I was on the highway, running about 65MPH and going up a long grade. Didn't downshift, just rolled on the throttle and she SLOWLY gained some speed. Got to the top, off the throttle and lost a cylinder! First time in 40 years I've had to put the bike in the back of a pick up!! Almost glad I had to though! It rained all the way home, almost 200 miles, but I was nice and dry in the truck!!

You could have asked for a present like most of us do.......200 miles out with a holed piston doesn't not sound like fun...especially on your birthday!

Found out what happened. SRIS hose to the right cylinder broke off right before it connects to the transfer port! She's back together again, just waiting for her to cool down so I can re-torque the head!
