Critical part now obsolete

Of all things the locking tab washer locks the bolts that hold the front sprocket on a GT550 is no longer available. Part number 09167-25008. That means I have to reuse the old one. I don't like to do that as those little tabs fatigue and break off.

Appreciate the effort, but that would be over $10 USD. Partzilla's last price was $0.83. I wonder how much market there is for them. Simple punch press work. My son could have these made by the gazillion. If I had 100 made, they would probably be less than 25 cents each.
Everything is so expensive now. It used to be fun to resurrect these old machines. Now you need 2 good paying jobs to support the habit.

I have an original printed parts manual for a 1969 T350 that has the prices.

A petcock was $7.53 -- they now go for $304.26 @ partzilla.
A complete carb was $23.93.
A piston was $4.57.

ah, but that was when a dollar was A DOLLAR!!

I'm a Brit, but same stuff happened to the £. Not quite a wheelbarrow of them to a loaf, but that'll come.

Re-use the lock but put a drop of locktite on the threads of the bolts. Or, drill the heads and use lock wire.

Old Racer, 25007 and 25008 are not the same part. Both have a similar use but they are entirely different. If you go through that list you posted you will not find the GT550.
25007 is made for a single nut sprocket retention. I wish the 550 were that way but it's not. It uses 3 bolts and each has it's own locking tab. By comparison, it's a very Mickey Mouse retention system, BUT it has worked for decades.

....can be obtained for EUR 3.20 from gtreiner1@aol.com

I bought one for my 550B.

Postage might sting though!

When the time comes, I'm going to rebend the old one and see how it feels. I have 2 of them as I have the old one off RedZone as well. I thought about doubling up but the OEM S bolts are already short so I don't think I need 2. What a lame retention method but as I already mentioned, it has worked for decades

Reuse the old lock, a drop of loctite on each bolt and don't over tighten them! Simple system, yes, but it works!
