Suzuki 2 Strokes

I am just about ready to put my GT750 cases back together. Had the crankshaft rebuilt. What about the bearings on the transmission. Do you guys normally grease them are do they get oiled from the motor oil? One of the bearings have a cap on the end so I would think it would be good to pack it with grease but it looks as though it has engine oil in it. Instinct tells me to pack grease in all bearings but would like to hear what you guys think. //Pat

Hi,refill gear box with 2200cc,4.7 US pints,3.9 Imp pints 20W/50 mineral engine oil,don't grease,oil is the only lube needed You can also use Castrol MTX semi synthetic gear box oil FOR TWO STROKES BOXES,will not cause the clutch to slip

Pre-lube the bearings/bushings with what ever oil you'll be using in the transmission. Just a quick hint though. Assemble everything dry first. No oil, no sealants. Bolt the case halves together with 1/2 dozen bolts and make sure EVERYTHING turns freely, without any lumps or tight spots. Check that the trans. shifts in all gears and turns freely without any noise. If there is a problem with the assembly, now is the time to catch it! If everything is good, split the cases, lube up the gears and bearings, apply your sealant and bolt her together! Don't forget to torque the bolts in the proper sequence! Everything should turn free and smooth as it did dry.

Thanks guys for the info. I think Cliff's tip on putting the case back together with a few bolts and making sure everything is working properly prior to using the sealant is a great idea. //Pat
