T500 adjust oil pump cable pictures

See picture one. I've adjusted the pump cable as far out as possible, where the cable goes into the pump, and the oil pump lever arm is still past the proper home position.

I've exposed the upper end of the pump cable and where it comes into this housing, see picture two. How do I get into the housing, the cap did not seem to want to pop off too easy, and once I am inside this housing, how do I adjust out the extra play in the cable?

Thanks for the assist,,

You don't. There is nothing to adjust in the housing where the throttle cable splits 1-to-3.

As I posted in your other thread, the "throw" of the oil pump cable is a function of how far the slides move in the carbs -- from idle to full throttle. Set the cable adjuster at the oil pump, so at full throttle, the line on the arm aligns with mark on the pump.

At idle, the spring is going to move the arm back - even if it leaves slack in the cable.

If the throttle is set up correctly (not a great amount of slack at the throttle), you should be good to go.

Ohh, I get it now, I misunderstood what was clearly being said. This should be easier to get adjusted it sounds like. I will looped back around, thanks LP

Picture 1 - The oil tank breather hole did have an OEM looking / fitting rubber cap on it, which I do not see in the parts book, which makes me think it is either a PO Mod or a limited edition piece worth hundreds of dollars, if anyone wants it, let me know.

Picture 2 - the throttle lever at rest, their is a line that matches up with the pump line, I had not noticed this earlier.

Picture 3 - the throttle is wide open and the adjustment line is now dead on with the line on the pump.

I also replaced a missing screw in back of tank and cleaned oil level lens and gasket, which upon installation was leaking oil everywhere, so had to clean up that mess and set the gasket better.

The oil tank breather tube should have a clear hose attached to it and going downwards to the swing arm, there should a metal clip on the swing arm that holds the breather tube in place.
