Suzuki 2 Strokes

so i put the front axle back the way it came out. upon looking at the microfiche i realize that it is in backwards? i have the axle in where the axle nut is on the right side. the speedometer gearbox assembly...seems as though its stuck on the axle on the "big" end of it. do i need to press it off the axle, and spin the axle around or does it work both ways?

That's how mine were. As long as the speedo drive is on the left side pointing backwards with the cable on the bottom, you are good to go.

Neither axle matters which side the castle nut is on. On my bikes, I have the rear on the wrong side intentionally to allow me to remove the rear wheel without having to remove my exhaust in order to slide the axle out. The only thing that matters on the front is the position the speedo drive is tilted. Otherwise the cable will not reach the gauges in order to connect it. The drive needs pointed upward a little. Having the castle nuts on the left side of the bike, improves appearance. Because the bike leans to its left when parked. If you want to get technical.
