Timing, compression, spark...still won't start. T20

I'm curious if anybody has found the carbs on the T20's to be finicky. I cleaned mine and they slides area still sticky. Is it the cable or carbs? I messed with it for about and hour and all I could get the bike to do is sputter a couple times.
Also, it's clear I need an air filter. Do they exist?

Hi,I have mates with T20's, the carb bodies distort with heat & age apparently ? so the slides can never operate properly once this has happened, both these guys have fitted different carbs to overcome this problem
Cheers,
Roger

Try backing off the two nuts 1/8-1/4 turn that holds the carbs to the cylinder this might free up the slides, if it does you will have get the faces machined square, new O rings do not over tighten the nuts when installing the carbs.

On my T20 I could never get the stock 24mm carbs to operate properly despite being cleaned thoroughly. The slides would stick open.
I finally went with 28mm carbs from an RD350, had to make special adapters though.

I have had this problem on T305 and T350s
+1 on silverstone
I also clean up slide bore some with sand paper and then aluminum polish which took some metal away.
The was one person here under a year ago (T350 I think it was) as a last ditch effort put the carb in a vice and gave it bit of squeeze where it was distorting and stated all was well after.

I tried loosening the nuts and that did't work. I talked with a buddy of mine last night and he gave me some suggestions. I'll try them soon and post back if it works with pictures. It's hard to explain. Does anybody know where I can get and air filter? Mine is toast.
