Suzuki 2 Strokes

I found this set of bearings and seals on ebay that are pretty affordable. Sending my crank into Bill and current rate for him is $80 for seals, $80 per bearing. I know one of them are bad so thats $160 min. This kit would end up at $210 and would be worth it to me to just replace everything if its a good replacement. Anyone have any experience?

That's an incredible price if they are good parts. The big end bearings look almost like the cages are aluminum and I'll guess are not silver plated for high RPM use which is OK.

Isn't one or more of those bearings supposed to be pinned?

All of them should have a small hole to take a pin that is fitted into the lower crankcase half. None of the 750 bearings have a pin in the bearing.

If they are anything like the T500 bearings he produced they will be crap, or the non existent T500 rods he took 5k of my money to fund and were never produced

I see 3 of the crank bearing in the picture show a hole for the locating pin so i guess they all do .

I skipped for now, I should only need one bearing so I would rather just get one I know is legit at this point.

I bought fork tubes from the same seller. Good price, they look good, and fit perfectly. It'll be a while before I can report on how well the chrome lasts.

After getting a call from Bill Bune with an $800 price tag to rebuild the crank (it was much worse than I could see), i've requested more information about this kit. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything back.

I think i would get another crank off ebay and try again , my charges with Bill have never been that high . Your crank must have major problems .

Dave is right. That crank must be 99% junk. Try to find a cheap one on ebay.

Is it a 72-3 crank with big end thrust washers or a 74-77 crank with thrusts at the small ends?

If they are anything like their carb intake boots. They are junk. Seller hides from problems too. Never, to be heard from again. I wouldn't take that risk for one point alone. Crank seals and bearings aren't like carb boots that you can take off in 30 minutes in throw them in the trash and replace. You're gonna be stuck with paying someone a large amount of money to rebuild and install the crank. If the crank doesn't hold up. You're gonna spend a lot more money again. A crank is something I wouldn't choose cheap parts for. Do it right the first time with oem parts and you're done. The crank should out live you. Even if you remove and install the crank yourself. It's enough work, to not want to do it twice in a short period of time. They do sell nice brake line kits. I know prices are outrageous. But, don't skimp on internal engine parts. When things go bad as a result. You could have saved a lot more. Had you done it right the first time. Which does hurt the wallet. Nothing pisses you off more, pouring a lot of money and time into. For it to be for nothing. Because you spent so much and have very little money or desire to reconcile. It's like putting a roof on your house. It's gonna be expensive. Except it. You can't can't cut corners in reference to a crank. Some things you can. That isn't one of them.

oh peter lad thats one thing you should never do pay him or anyone to fund his project even if its for you.
even if he did made them for you ,he will have them for himself to sell on as a direct competitions which he has with your money.lending him a part to copy off is a different matter but certainly not money upfront.
at least a lesson let be it an expensive one.
