If I remember right, all 11 head bolts use sealing washers. Part #11?

later years used those to try and fix the stud corrosion issue from water coming in. im talking about the 8 mm head bolts, i dunno if they ever made sealing washers for those.

The issue here is that on a stock barrel, all of the 8mm holes are "blind". In other words the bottom end is closed. No water can get into those bolts.
What happens is that people fit bolts that are too long and when they tighten them down, the bolt burst out of teh bottom into teh water passage allowing it to leak.
The simple fix is to slather them in your favorite gasket goo and use a soft aluminum or copper washer with goop under the washer to try to seal them.

Hi,did you use a genuine head gasket ? some after market ones are prone to leak past the bolts....just a thought
Cheers,

oh no, moto gp your saying that the threaded hole for this 8 mm bolt is broken out into a water passage. thats not good news.

When I rebuilt my 750 motor. I replaced the lock and flat washers with stainless steel ones. They didn't have sealing gaskets around the interior of the flats and don't leak.

I think TZ has the answer. Broke through to the water jacket. Regular old pipe dope that you use around the house on galvanized pipes should seal the bolt threads just fine.

Well I added two tablets of bars leaks to the cooling system and no more leak! Don't really like the thought of it but the manual says to. She's running good! Pics to come just doing heat cycles and break in now
