3 more exhaust questions

1) which way to the 'teeth' on the clamp face when mounted?
2) which end of the rubber goes against the teeth? I think the thick side but not sure.
3) the crossover pockets on the junctions still have some of the OEM glop in them. it's impossible to dig it all out. Is there something that dissolves it, or just put it together and not worry about it?

On mine, the thicker side to the teeth to keep the pressure from pushing the rubber peice out. Then the step in the inner rubber at the joint, smaller id to outer pipe, larger id to smaller pipe.

Teeth to the header, thick rubber to the teeth.Thick rubber to the header, thin to the muffler.
Try soaking the crossovers in drain cleaner (Drano or Liquid Plumber for example). 10 to 15 minutes should be enough. It's caustic (sodium hydroxide) just like what's in a hot tank at the rad shops!

So is this the correct way? Just shove these on till the rear mount lines up?

Correct.

You can always smear some High Temp gasket goo around the pipe as a lubricant and wipe off any excess once the pipes are mounted.
