Do you have a T500 or GT500?
The GT500 is an updated version of T500 that was sold in 1976 & 1977.
If you aren't sure, you can tell from the VIN.

If this is a newly acquired T500, then you might find your time & money better spent sorting things out instead of updating the ignition.

There are 3 aftermarket ignition systems available for the T500.

Classic Suzuki Parts in the Netherlands has a good reputation for quality but I don't know of anyone using their ignition system.

Newtronics in the UK sells ignition systems for the twins & triples. But it may be difficult to get a kit for the T500.
Several members have their kits & have had good results.

Powerdynamo sells a rather expensive kit for the T500 that replaces the complete ignition system + alternator.
Provides more alternator output that stock for the T500.
