This must be an error in the Clymer Manual ?

I'm finishing up a past winter maintenance tear down, clean, etc. on my 550. I was just about to put my carbs back on. Before, I did. I wanted to verify that the jets were in their correct places. I've understood that all the GT's had a slight larger main for the middle cylinder from the factory to counter more heat on that cylinder. Well, looking at my Clymer manual it does infact present that on my VM28 carbs. But, it shows the exact opposite on the earlier 550 carbs and the later 750 carbs ? This ain't right ?

I can't comment on the 550 / 750 but the 380s were always jetted identically across all 3 carbs ...

I have a vague memory about that. I think the Clymer is wrong.

That is in fact an error. Just one of many in the Clymer manual. Even the brand new Clymer has all the same errors. They have never been corrected.

Suzuki dealt with the confusion by issuing Service Bulletins with carb specs:

That mistake must have been repeated by countless others. According to the Suzuki bulletin JB posted. The center cylinder jet is supposed to be smaller.

I must be the only one that thinks it is NOT a mistake. Suzuki fitted smaller jets in the center carb - at least on the 750 and I have opened enough carbs with stock jets to confirm that is indeed what they did.
I see what you are saying, but the 32mm are J/K 750 and BS40 are L on 750. 550 were always 28mm. The J set I opened up had 95-92-95 ie smaller center main the same as the 750s and I think that Coyote's were 97.5-95-97.5.The Suzuki Carb manual says 97.5-95-97.5 for the 550 (74 on) but that is not what the box you posted says.
What we know for sure:
VM32 on GT750 - smaller center main
BS40 on GT750 - smaller center main
GT550 - always VM28
And GT550 seems to use smaller center mains as well but that appears to be the only area of contention.

It's just the 550 that's in error - showing the center jet as larger. They have the 550 jets reversed
Under the 550 specs in the back of the manual under fuel system, it says 3 VM32SC carbs. That is wrong. All were VM 28's It also says "or 3 BS40's" Show me one
In error also are the fuel tank capacities. It shows 4.5 US gallons for the 550 and 3.3 US gallons for the 380. Both are wrong as ALL those tanks were 4 US gallons even.
0n page 123 under wheel run-out it says .07 or 2mm. The associated illustration reads ,007. Keep looking, you will find more
