As the title implies, does anyone have an opinion or experience with these listed on ebay?

I have no experince with the rod. I asked same question here about GT550 rod no reply (newer item though).
It depends how desparate you are. I have bought other things off him (pistons for example) and here the metalurgey looks good, but there is always something off with a machining dimension. Its not that geat of a $ loss if you don't use (suppose that's relative to how well you money tree is flurishing).
You could buy and verify how accurate the Rod IDs are, length, width etc.
You don't have to use the Big End Needle and cages if you don't trust. The rod is what obsolete as you know.
Also contact Bill Bune. He rebuilds these cranks and maybe he has seen these come by his way now.
Ask Crank Master, Paul Miller;s guy same (Miller has his #).
Let us know
Someone else may chime in yet

I remember reading that Pete foot the bill for Crizinimage to develop and produce replacement rods, and the results were nothing more than a big capital loss.

Pete did indeed lose a bunch of money on those conrods, none were delivered back to him. He also found the outer T500 Main Bearings sold by Crizinimage have an oil hole that does not match those in crankcase journal. He found out the hard way after a newly re-built engine lunched itself.
