Can I buy new Mikuni VM32-33 and VM32-193 carbs and install them onto my 74 T500?

I understand I will have to modify the internals, just wanted to know if they will fit and function. They are only $89 each at Summit Racing.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I think these are really for 1973 and up. If the jet needle is OK, all else can be replaced inside. the 188 series Jet Needle is obsolete and shows up now and again, but the 159 series works in its place.

As far as other Mic carbs, if you could make it fits and get choke access to your liking, jetting (not talking WOT that may be the easy one) could be a quite a challenge. I have no advice for you on what else works (Someone else may)

Update, looks like it is missing choke parts and I would ask to see inside with bowls off to get a feel for water damage extent at least to the aluminum body.

If you can wait carbs show up on eBay.

What's up with your current carbs?

Maybe someone else can advise on other carb options

I have 2 different carbs that came with the bike. One is the tall correct for 74 and one is the short earlier model. I did some looking around and the VM32-33 and -193 are the newest version of the same carb suzuki used. They fit on the inlets but I will have to run pods as the airbox side is 58mm vs the stock 52mm.

I went ahead and ordered them, new carbs at 89 bucks a piece with a 90 day return policy? I'll spend some time messing with them for that much.

I may be asking more questions soon... :)

Jetting will be your only issue. It will take some time and a lot of brass, but it'll work.

I have the rebuild kits for the stock 1974 carbs, can I just use the needles, pilot jets, and perhaps swap the needle jet out from my stock ones? I think these new ones use the hex type mains instead of the large round ones. Any idea what the conversion would be from a large round 120 to a hex?

I am getting into these tonight as the bike is virtually ready to ride once I get carbs...

Jets from carb kits are always wrong.....and the needles are worse. The only things worth a crap in carb kits are gaskets and float valves. You need to use real Mikuni jets, and needles.

I got Mikuni jets and the needles I got with the rebuild kits matched the stock needles. I didn't get the cheap kits...

Had to order new intake boots. Mine were all dried out and stretched out too big to hold the new carbs...

I JUST WANNA RIDE IT!!
