Is this cylinder head beyond help

Good day

The GT185 is now totally stripped chassis-wise and the parting of the crankcases imminent.

However, on trying to free-off the cylinder head I managed to damage it :( but then sourced one of off the usual site.

On receiving it I noted that the combustion chambers had had a coming together with bits of piston  and have tried to clean them up.

This is it at the moment:

Question then, should I find another ?? :|

Thanks

It's fine, you will never know the difference.

Thank-you Barry s

Am I being too fussy? I'm thinking hotspots and associated problems....

Those things are possible, but not very likely. I would run it.

For a street motor they are probably fine. If you really want to be sure there are no high spots, either carefully dress them down or use an old piston to find them and either dress them down or peen them back carefully with a pin punch. Small low spots are not a problem.

Sorry mate, what's a pin punch?

A "centre punch" in old language

Well, close enough. I believe a center punch usually has a pointed tip. A pin punch is usually flat tipped.

Correct. It's like a center punch but with a flat end. Perfect of carefully pressing down small high spots.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll feel more charitable towards it when I polish up the fins now!
