T500 clutch adjustment

Hey guys.

Look I know this is all basic stuff but for the life of me I can't find my manuals (might be a cunning plan on the wife's part to keep me out of the garage), so I'm a bit stuck.

Anyway, would someone be kind enough to post the correct clutch adjustment sequence for me?

Thank you.

About a mm slack in the cable to lever so it's fully engaged before the lever stops moving.

Wotcher

This is the owner's manual which tells you how to adjust the clutch
http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/ ... manual.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; page 41
Basically, loosen the cable right off, screw in the adjuster on the left hand side of the engine until it tightens, then back it off a quarter turn, finally tighten the cable until you have 4mm of play at the right hand end of the lever

This is the service manual which tells you how to take it down to its component bits and theoretically put it all back together
http://file.walagata.com/w/sundialmotos ... kiT500.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And this gives you the numbers for all those bits
http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/T500parts/index2.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Enjoy

Hi Mensie,

Slacken of the clutch cable and then turn your attention to the adjuster under the rubber cover on the sprocket cover. Undo the lock nut and then turn the inner out, and then in until it bottoms out. Turn it back 1/4 to 1/2 a turn and then tighten the lock nut. All made easier if you have a suitable ring spanner so you can hold the inner with a screw driver and then do the tightening. Re-adjust the cable using bottom and lever adjusters leaving a few mm of play at the lever. Far harder to describe than to do the actual job :D

Cheers Geoff

Cheers all.

Now all I need is a clutch pushrod that doesn't have a load of ridges in it! :wth:
