Suzuki 2 Strokes

Alright today I bought a Suzuki ts185 endro some time in its life someone removed the turn signal and in my state to be able to register the vehicle you have to have turn signals

I'm going to get a set of 4 for it but my question is do they ground to the frame or do I have to put a grounding wire on them and then grounded it to the wiring harness to get them to Blink because the guy I bought the bike from gave me some beet up ones and i just hooked them up to se if they worked and they came on but did not blink

i have looked at some wiring diagrams most of them arnt much help to me im used to 12v on cars so any help would be greatly appreciated

Suzuki turn signals have only one wire & ground through the frame.

The turn signal flasher is designed to flash when its got the correct load.
It won’t flash with just one turn signal.

Ok so i have to have all 4 lights hooked up and attached to the bike and then it should work right im going to try that but i have to make some extensions for the rear turn signals because the wires are to short

All right just got my turn signals today got him hooked up and plugged in started the bike then I let it run for like a minute or two then I tried to turn signals they still don't blink they will light up but they don't blink does anyone think it might be the light bulbs that came with the turn signals or could it be the relay or a ground issue any help would be appreciated and I'm going to get some pics posted

Silly question perhaps, but isn't the TS185 a 6 volt system ? If so, then the bulbs and flasher relay you are using are in fact 6 v ?

Yes it is a 6v system and the relay that's in it is the stock really I'm assuming and I'm pretty sure I got a good ground I'm also assuming the bulbs that came in the turn signals that I bought are 6 volt bulbs I'm just not sure what I need to do to get them the Flash

Well - if the bulbs are in fact 6 volt and the flasher relay is good, I'd check to see what voltage you were actually getting in the circuit. If the voltage is low then they will light, but won't flash. If the voltage is close to 6 volts, then I'd check the grounds and all the connections, including the handlebar switch. If all of that is good - then perhaps it is the flasher relay - sometimes you can give them a sharp rap to get them going, but otherwise replacement would be the next step.

Check the bulbs to see that are actually 6V.

And check what wattage the flasher relay needs to be able to operate. If it needs say, a total of 50 watts (2 × 23w indicator bulbs+ 1 × 4w dash repeater bulb) and your bulbs are different, then it won't work.

Better, that they are the exact same wattage (better still, part #) as the OEM.

I put some Hong Kong replacement turn signals on my T500. Came with 12V bulbs, but a different wattage. Relay wouldn't work. Took the bulbs from my cruddy old signals, put them in. Now works flawlessly.

Okay I checked the bulbs they are 6 volt 8 watt bulbs I looked at the wiring loom little more found out there was a set of wires that wasn't plugged in they where (Yellow/red striped) after I got those plug then I started the bike tried to turn signals again they still didn't blink and then I realized that these wires go to the little box underneath the turn signal relay as of now every wire is either plugged into itself plugged into a ground or into a light except for one that one just happens to be a dark green wire and it's coming out of a wiring loom that goes to the motor

Those old flashers frequently corrode inside the case and won't work. The case is crimped together and is pretty easy to take apart and clean.

Are you talking about the flasher relay

The corrosion is common - that's why sometimes giving the relay can a sharp rap will get it going again. If you want to see a photo of the inside of the relay, just check this link. My solution works for 12 volt circuits - not 6 - so it may not be of much help to you, but there is a photo of the inside of the flasher can. What sticks are the contacts at the end of the coil in the photo. Just click on any photo to see a larger image.

You confirmed the bulbs are 6 volt, but I don't think you have confirmed whether you have added up the loads and compared them to the rating on the flasher itself as Alan H suggested ? And on the wiring - I don't support off road machines on my web site, but I can offer a wiring diagram for the TS185B at this link - possibly it will help.
