Suzuki 2 Strokes

Has anyone used these Cruzin Image crank seals with any success? I believe it's a newly listed part on their site. I was going to do the seals myself, but after getting the first crank web off I realized that the drive gear won't fit through my press bed plate So looks like I'll send it off to someone else. I'm planning to build a stock engine and then pull it back apart after a year or so for some performance modifications. Its a little hard to justify spending nearly $1000 on the crank if it's going to be back out relatively soon.

The crank seals are still available from Suzuki AFAIK. Use OEM seals if you can get them.

It's always nice to do a quick introduction before asking for things.
Just a few basics like which bit of the world you're in and a bit of you're biking experience will do.

Personally, I'd let a specialist do the crank and they will supply whatever is needed for an all in price....

presume you're doing the gt750 crank? alpha sports showing the 2 centre crank oilseals at $24 each and the left hand crank also available about the same price. the other 2 not in stock. but, as alan says, send your crank off to a REPUTABLE crank builder and let him sort it. more expensive, but a lot less hassle

Apologies Alan, I had another account here under the same name but it seems like it got deleted a while back. I had tried to re-register but for the better part of 8 months the site wouldn't send me the activation email. Just got that to work yesterday and now i'm back but still have to fill out the profile info again.

A quick re-introduction is that i'm living in the states, Florida to be exact. I currently own just my GT750 and an XJ650 Seca turbo. I have a bit of a bike hoarding problem but i've finally been able to get down to just those two. Previously I also had a TC-185, GS750x2, many different models of vintage Hondas, a Ninja 650, and even an R1 for a short time. I put 10,000 miles/year on my GS750 for 3 years before I sold it. My riding has tapered off in the past two years but recently have been thinking about getting into vintage racing. Anyway, i'll keep it short here.

I've done several H2 cranks for a couple friends. They're not that hard to do you just gotta take it slow and be careful not to damage anything. But the GT is a bit bigger than the others. I got a quote from Bill Bune at just shy of $1000, probably over that with shipping. That included all bearings and one connecting rod. Maybe I can get away with just doing the seals for now but we'll see. I'm in contact now with a local guy that does all the cranks for the 2 stroke vintage racers. Going to take a trip to him on Monday to pop the crank apart and see exactly what it needs. Then i'll go from there. The Cruzin image crank seals are only $40 for the set. A much cheaper option IF they are good quality

No problems at all. There shouldn't be issues with the auto activation, but anything is possible when computers are involved.
Usually, cruizing image sell good quality parts. I can't say I've heard bad reports, except perhaps some of the keyster carb jet kits, but mikuni ones are always going to be best anyway. I've had a set of pistons off them a long time ago and run them without issue.

I believe Ed Toomey is servicing triple cranks now. You might want to look him up and talk to him. He really knows his two strokes. You can also see what he is up too on FB. Good luck n your build.

Whilst I wouldn't want to slag them off, I've had fork seals from Cruisin' image that didn't seal. The rubber lipped oil seal seemed more like a hardish plastic.
Obviously it could have just been a bad batch.

I have quite a few items from Cruizinimage, I am yet to put them into play but I will give some feedback once I do.

But I will say, I do like how Mitsuo invoices his stuff for us International guys

My only issue with the CI crank seals was that it was misprinted and when I sent my crank to someone to rebuild and take care of, he pressed the wrong seal into the wrong side because he was following the diagram and part number. So I had to get one ones...

Emailed CI many times about it and they refused to answer my email and I know of other people who have had the same issue as well!

Yes and knowing cruisinimage you will be blocked from buying stuff from them. They dont like criticism.

It was a local machinist, he was not familiar with the T500.

Cruzin Image parts are so, so cheap by way of $ - compared, say, to that Dutch source of Titan parts.

Are they REALLY made-in-Japan OEM bearings, for example? Are the seals, really, the genuine stuff--- not Chinese knock-offs? I really have my negative suspicions, here, sorry to say.

Here, for example, are some T500 parts from CI:

I paid about A$350 to get a pair of genuine OEM pistons for my GT500.
I'm either a mug, or very sensible. Who decides?
