Suzuki 2 Strokes

I raised this a few weeks back and couldn't find my own thread

These came out of a US registered GT550J model. They didn't look like this when they were removed, but a quick soak in teh ultrasonic cleaner soon had them looking pretty again.





Outer needle jets are different to center and the main jets have small extenders/adapters. They are also a different thread on each end. Needle jets take a Hex jet, so the adapter male end is that thread and the jets are large Round, so the female thread matches the large Round Jets.

It's the first time I had seen that.

Do they look familiar to anyone else?

Sorry to steer your thread in the wrong direction. I have never used a ultrasonic cleaner. Which one do you own or would you suggest ? I was thinking about buying one at Harbor Freight. What do you use for a good carburetor solution ? Those jets look fantastic. I was hoping the ultrasonic cleaner would have good results with oxidized carb bodies ?

That sure is odd isnt it , that would put the main jet lower in the bowl too .. are the bowls the same depth as normal main jet fitted carbs ?

Yes Dave, good question. Normal bowls. It's as if they didn't have any needle jets that were long enough, so they used the adapter to make up the length.

With the adapters, those needle jets are the right length for those carb bodies but they change from one jet series to another.

I have heard good things about HF cleaners. If teh body is heavily oxidized, dip it in CLR and watch it. Do not leave it too long.

Ah .. so those needle jets are shorter in length than normal AND the wrong main jet threading .. sure makes ya wonder .
