I restored my seat over the summer, using a can of black automotive spray paint and a replica cover I purchased from an ebay seller named tight-fit-seats. I have to say I'm happy with how it came out, I would definitely recommend this company.
Only thing i would do differently next time is find a new seat foam. there are a couple of uneven spots here and there from where the foam was damaged.
Redid my seat.

Re: Redid my seat.
Nice job
How long did it take you and how difficult was it?
I was thinking of buying one off them and trying it myself but I don't know if my upholstery skills are up to the job.

Re: Redid my seat.
This was my first attempt at upholstery. It really wasn't very difficult at all. The seat pan has little tabs that you bend over the material, I basically just kept going around and around the seat and reworking each tab until i was happy with how tight the seat was over the foam. All of the nuts and bolts that held the chrome trim on were so rusted that most of them broke as i removed them. I wound up getting new ones and grinding the heads down so that they would fit into the slot in the trim.
supposedly you're supposed to cut the excess material and sew it up, but i found that folding it up under the tabs worked just fine.
