Kettle Radiator Cushions/Grommets question

Post by RING_DING »

Season's Greetings everyone! Quick question for the Kettle radiator experts....the rubber grommets/cushions (I bought new ones) that support the radiator are slightly thicker on one side than the other. Which way should they be inserted in the mounting brackets....thick side in or out?

I usually play with the fitting to see which fits best - note that its actually the washers you need to pay more attention to as there are different thickness's. The Haynes manual on page 75 does make a comment about fitting it such that there is minimal strain on the mount tabs, and on page 57 of the Suzuki shop manual it goes into detail about the washers.

Like I said - I just hang it, swap around the washers and check to see that the bolts draw up without stressing the radiator mount tabs and it should be fine. 8)
