GT750 Cylinder Headbolt Sealing Washers

Post by RING_DING »

Some time ago I bought a set of the special sealing washers for the cylinder head bolts. The ones I bought were genuine Suzuki, but I was disappointed with the finish on them. They have a kind of bronze color to them and do not match the nice shiny new head bolts or head for that matter. So I looked into what McMaster Carr might have available as a better alternative.
The diameter of the flange on the head bolt measures 24.10mm, and the stock sealing washer has an outside diameter of 26mm. The McMaster M14 sealing washers have an outside diameter of 22.35mm and they are also about half the thickness of the stock. I thought the smaller diameter and thickness would look odd, so I chose the nearest inch size and bought one just to see what it looked like.
It does have a nice shiny finish, but is approx 28mm outside diameter (2mm larger than stock) but it is about the same thickness. I am going to put this one on the bike just to see what it looks like and I'll post a pic of it in place. It fits nice and tight on the headbolt.
