Thanks. The tacho lead was just lying close to the HT lead, so it's anyone's guess what it was reading.

That was a silver display when it arrived and it came with the full dash of idiot lights, but that didn't match the bare bones image, so I threw the idiot lights in the electrical spares box and disassembled and painted the case.

Now they offer a "Stealth" model. Go figure. Timing is important I hear.

I figure the bike is 95% complete and if my project management math still works that means that half the work is done! And I need to get the radiator repaired and fitted before I run it again. I don't want to ruin the waterpump seals.

Dave,
Yours must be getting close.....Yes?

Of course this one is just a diversion from the reed motor bike with GSXR suspension that I have to get back to. :?

Thanks wingspan. It sounds much smoother with all 3 pots firing.

Now I need to take care of the myriad of unfinished details including the tank, seat and side covers. And the modified radiator needs a minor repair too.

I'm liking the engine case bolts, bars and rims matching color. The pipes sound real nice. What rear shocks did you go with?

Thanks guys. Color was a fluke. Rims were left over from a Yamaha TZ resto project, bolts were left over from a LP Bikeboltz kit for a race bike and the bars were the only color they had that I liked.

Shocks are from MikesXS. They feel OK in the shop but I have no idea how well they will work on the street. And the choices were almost matching gold - again

I spent some time this evening trying to make the petcock/fuel tap seal properly. The first one leaks out between the diaphragm and the body and the other one leaks past the on-pi-res switch so it is never completely closed. It's fitted with a new O ring from the local Auto store that is slightly smaller than the hard cracked one I removed, so that may be the issue.

I gave it the chopstick lap dance on the taper to clean it up and it looks fine. Anyone know if thsoe taps close completely or is a slight air leakage always on the cards?

Seat pad came back from the auto upholstery shop and looks pretty good. He cut and sewed the cover and stuck it in place and stapled it.

That's Velcro circles and strips on the bottom to hold it onto the seat base which is a carbon fiber/chopped strand/carbon fiber sandwich

Except that I changed my mind on the seat design so many times that the seat is incredibly heavy now. Maybe it needs to be f\ground a little thinner. Did I ever show you how much I ground out of the levers and footpegs?

Stock GT weighs about 555 pounds wet, so if by some miracle I managed to grind, drill, buff and remove my way through say 35 pounds of crap, that still leaves it at 520 pounds.......... :wth:  Is it possible to get down to 500 pounds wet?

Last night I threw some paint on the tank and the metallic red I wanted to use is really too dark to work with a white side panel, so I'm rethinking the whole color scheme.
