the 2T oil tank, all neatly mounted under the seat..........
where the filler cap is totally inaccessible..........damn..........
so - I modified the filler cap to accept some tubing..........
found this Bimota Tesi 1D fuel tank outlet in my spares cache and turned the swaged end off the lower leg to accept the smaller diameter pipe from the filler cap..........
drilled a hole in the VJ23 seat unit and mounted it, securing it with the 20mm nut from the previous picture.........
connect pipe from tank filler cap and it's good to go - acts as a vent for the tank and allows the tank to be filled from the outside, without disturbing the seat unit, using a large syringe and a length of tube.
I feel a headache coming on................

One of the Velocity Channel car shows demonstrated a hose clamp tool that makes hose clamps look better.
You’ve got some tight clearances so it might help. http://clamptool.com/pages/auto.html
BAS (Bike Acquisition Syndrome) - too many bikes but have room for more
however, by the time I had got to step #17 I was beginning to think I will stick with the "Jubilee" type clips. Looks like a lot of work to make 1 clamp - I need around 20 ! I would also be scared of over-tightening them, especially on the water pump plastic inlets and some of the plastic elbows. I use a proper clip driver (not a socket / ratchet drive) to tighten those fitted to the bike and this ensures I do not over-tighten them.
Not sure I would ride a bike with the front brake fluid reservoir held in place by a wire clip

Still can't quite work out how this item vents. You mention it is a seat unit?
Pipework looks like it must have been a lot of work and head-scratching to make fit. Well done.
I remember looking at Ducati and TZ Yamaha dry clutches in the past for ideas and whatever Gary came up with must have been a lot of work to work out all the associated parts. Seemed to me that a bigger stronger clutch would be needed, so I bought a Hyabusa assembly with a hop of maybe modifying it to work, but that is so different in every aspect of its design that't beyond my pay grade.
That's a really interesting seat hump with a hollow in the center. Not many like that around.

The 2T oil tank is actually a water header tank, so it has an extra vent on it (which is used as the overflow when used as a water tank). See pic below - vent is next to / forward of the filler neck.
