rotor engraving ...bad idea?

where i work they have a program for engraving the parts we make and i was thinking about getting a couple of gt750 rotors engraved with 'GT750' .
the lettering would be about an inch tall and about 1/32 deep and in two places 180 derees apart.
now my question is how much would it degrade the braking .
and would it raise any other issues.
thanks mark

Structurally, I wouldn't think its a problem Mark./

I thinned my first set of stock rotors down 4 mm as a weight savings and then sent it out to have 76 holes drilled all the way through. I was able to stop the bike, largely on one rotor without issue at high speed. Of course Im not jamming on the brakes either, just rolling it out. If your only engraving 1/32" deep, you're leaving a lot more thickness than I did. In fact, the engraving may add some cooling effect.

If it works, I think it would be very cool.
