Re: Nice GT750 Custom on Titan Performance Flicker
Wow !!! Richard sure did , its tricker than what i have come up with .. this guy made his own frame and swingarm .. changed the crank to 1 up 2 down so he could use only 2 chambers .. extra transfers , reed intakes .. hydraulic clutch... dang .. way above my work

the older i get the faster i was

Dave, do you know what he did with the ignition and alternator. I must have missed the comment about extra transfer ports.

Richard , this was posted about the bike........ " the frame and swingarm are both made by Richard, the forks are R1,the engine has extra transfer ports !!!! and reed valve induction, programmable ignition, altered firing order by altering the crank so its like a giant v-twin stroker, hydro formed expansion chambers (made by Richard) and lightened by removing angthing that was'nt needed,.
Rich is RUNNING it in at the Moment but in its previous form it would pull over 160mph.
once fully bedded in it will be hitting the dyno and expected to see in excess of 120 B.H.P..
Rich is currently working on an evolution of the kettle engine with more bore/stroke and will probably be casting his own bespoke pistons !!!.

Re: Nice GT750 Custom on Titan Performance Flicker
My interpretation is that he added boost ports which are transfer ports. It's a neat conversion alright. Not so sure about the 2 into 1 configuration, but anything is possible.
120RWHP is a fairly modest target for so much development, but maybe he's going for a big fat powerband. We know that a conventional piston ported motor with more or less stock transfer port configuration can make more than that in the hands of a good tuner.
I'd like to now more about it if details are available anywhere. It would make for an interesting read.
It looks as if the outer intakes may be angle inwards to clear the frame. And the hydraulic clutch is interesting it's on the wrong side for a pusher, so is it a PULL device?. That would be a cool design if it is.

If you go right above the picture... on the line started by ( License ) you will see a link Titan Performance .. click on that and it will take you to more pictures of bikes , on the second page of pictures there are several more pictures of the custom bike and engine . When they say Richard , i wonder if its another one of Richard Lindoe's customs ?

I think the guy from Titan Perf may be a member on this board, so maybe he will see this and provide some more info.
BTW...looks like he is going to start making gt750 chambers to go along with his t500 versions.

Dave:
I asked that question and they said that it's a different Richard. The Rizla bikes appear to belong to Filth.
CJF: I read that, but I have no idea who is working out their dimensions. Higgspeed also offer Stainless sets, JEMCO do a good pipe and Swarbrick do race pipes, so there are a few choices now.

Did you notice that super slim alternator with external pickup? That's very neat. I wonder what he did on the alternator outer ring to trigger the pickup.
I'm a a big fan on that electric waterpump though.

Re: Nice GT750 Custom on Titan Performance Flicker
Hello guys.....glad you like our pal's very special Kettle. It does indeed belong to a different Richard from the guy involved in the Kettle club..Richard (filth) Lindoe, owner of the Rizzla bike. The 2 Richards met not so long ago when we went to a classic show at the NEC in Birmingham. Lindoe had bought some of our rearsets for one of his 750 projects, so we delivered them personally, introduced ourselves, and the 2 Richards also had the opportunity to meet. Lindoe asked our pal Rich, about the prospect of him building an engine for him, as the Rizzla bike was struggling to make more than 80 ish bhp from memory....but it hasn't happened yet. Rich has been kind enough to give us guidance, and the benefit of his knowledge in the development of some of our products, and he is very knowledgeable about all technical aspects of the Kettle, and indeed the 500 twin. I know that while he was looking to create a high performance 750, he still wanted it to be useable, and although I have not ridden it, he claims it is still very tractable through the range. The size of the hydro-formed cans was critical in maintaining that tractability, which is why he converted the crank to firing 2 and 1. He said there just was not room under the motor for 3 cans the size that was needed, and with the amended firing order, the motor only needs the 2 !
It really is a work of art, but it has taken many years of gradual progress to get it where it is now. Hopefully when the weather cheers up, I shall get the chance to witness it's capabilities myself.
Paul Titan Performance.

Re: Nice GT750 Custom on Titan Performance Flicker
+1 to that Dave. What's the point of secrets if you can't share them.....
The ignition reminds me of a neater version of the Ralf/Leo H2 system. You probably have the drawings for that one already. It's much neater than say the GT1000 with belt driven underslung alternator.
BTW, 80 is about right for Filth's level of modifications - I mean the mods to the bike - not to Richard. We could get him to 100 without too much trouble.
