T500 coils

I tested pairs of coils I have and came up with the following primary coil resistance:

T500R = 6.1 ohms each
T500J = 5.1 ohms each
T500K = 4.5 ohms each

I am debating whether to re-use the T500J coils on mu current restoration project and wondered what you good folks think? I want to re-use as much of the original parts as possible.

Does anyone know how the HT lead is fixed into the coil body? I don't want to try to unscrew it if it doesn't...

Cheers

Geoff

Interesting trend in resistances.

The spec is 3 to 6 ohms. You should also check for secondary resistance & grounds.
See page 18 of: http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/suzidata1.htm

jabcb,
There was no reading for the 500R secondary coils so I assume they are stuffed.
The 500J gave readings of about 20k Ohm, so OK.

Thanks for those links. Very helpful.

I'll do a practice replacement of a HT lead removal on the faulty coils.

Cheers
