Gear position switch assembly questions

gear position switch.jpg
Hello all,
So I'm getting close to starting up for the first time my recently acquired 74 GT750. Thanks to all who have helped me. Now, I'm trying to get the gear position switch attached correctly. Apparently, the original one was damaged by the previous owner and was replaced by him by putting a neutral switch in it's place along with some sealant. I guess to use it as more of a "plug". Being this is a 74 model year bike and neutral switches were used on 72 and 73 model bikes, it would seem to be a period correct way to plug that opening. See the above pic.
So I have acquired a "new" gear position set up and was looking for guidance as to how it exactly goes together so I've put together a series of pics as to how I THINK it should go. The first picture shows all my parts...second, dropping in the center ring...third, installing the 2 springs...fourth, attaching the wiring harness. And finally, the whole unit as seen in the last picture attaches to the engine....right?
I haven't pulled the neutral switch "plug" out yet, so I don't know what's behind the neutral switch. I wanted to have some idea of what to expect before I do that.
I am aware of the need of replacing the 2 o-rings and know I need to re-solder that loose wire. Please let me know if I've got it right or if I'm missing any pieces. Thanks

I don't see the contact plate, it goes on top of the two little springs, do you have it?? This is the later metal bodied version but the internal parts are the same and you can see the little contact plate I'm referring to. The sealing o-ring is also difficult to find because of its thickness and not available separately.

Would that be the little copper piece in your picture? Because, yes, I don't have that.

Yup it is, without it your switch is not going to work.

Ok, thanks. I'll have to contact the person I got these parts from and hopefully, he'll have the contact plate. In appreciate your help and all the your contributions to this site.

If anybody on the board happens to have a broken one with an extra contact plate laying around, please give me a shout. Thanks

Don't forget hooking up the neutral wire.
