Oil pump modification

Hello,
I am currently building a BIMOTA HB1 replica with a GT750 engine(see separate thread). The engine will get Mikuni VM34 carbs instead of the BS40. Therefore I need to convert the oil pump control drom the rod-type to vable operation.
My question is now: how does the 34mm stroke of the cable relate to the rod version? How do I adjust the oilpump then - at max or min throttle?

I have a 75 GT750 that originally had the late-model CV carbs. The bike was converted over to early-model carbs.

The pump actuator arms have different pump alignment marks.
The late-model CV-carb bike has an alignment mark that is set when the throttle is closed.
The early-model non-CV-carb bike has an alignment mark that is set when the throttle is open.

See this thread for details:

If you modify the late-model actuator arm so that it works with a cable, then you adjust the pump with the carbs closed. And you don’t need the adjustment mark on the carb slide. (See pic of modified arm in the other topic.)
