GT500 carbs cleaning: How to clean white residue?

For those wanting to keep their bike the way the factory made them.

GT500 carbs cleaning: How to clean white residue?

There is thickish, whitish, solid deposit inside float body and generally all over inside of my old carbs.
What causes this?

Deposit is dry & thickish.

How to remove this?

Is there a place which does cleaning/resoting job, in case I cannot do a good enough clean?
