Gt 750 rotor removal?

I can't seem to find the thread on this and my searches come up empty.
I tried the engine bolt trick BUT the threads aren't long enough so I would have to cut more threads in order for the bolt to go all the way in Correct?
The other trick is the grub screw . I can't see how you get the grub screw partially sticking out if you can't see it.
Last year I gave the dimensions SmokeyAllen gave out to a machinist and he seems to have a hard time making it.

What am I missing in getting the rotor off as I'm worried about ruing the end of the crank.
Thanks
Ian

You are correct. You can screw in a grub screw and the easy way is to measure it and consider the thread pitch. So 8mm x 1.25mm means ten full rotations equals 12.5mm in. So if it's om;y 10mm long, rotate about 8 full turns.

Next you will need a "push rod" Ie a length of straight steel of an appropriate length. I think mine was somewhere around 75mm long.

Or take a long 8mm bolt and cut it off to a suitable length and cut a slot across the end so you can crew it into the crank in place of the normal rotor bolt. Then use a larger diameter bolt to screw into the rotor. Do it up really tight and then smack it hard straight on the end and it should shock it off with a single blow.
