Kick start shaft bush.

Hi All,
I am rebuilding a GT380 gearbox and am renewing most of the bearings and bushes. I have received a new bush that locates on the end of the kick start shaft ( left hand side ). The bush has an offset from centre hole which locates on the pin in the casing and a scalloped face on one end.
My question is, which way round does this bush go. Scalloped face in ( pointing towards the gearbox internals ) or scalloped face out ( pointing towards the rubber blanking seal ).
I couldn't check on the old one I took off as some moron had made one out of a piece of Bakelite that broke when I split the casings.
Regards,
Glyn.
