Suzuki GT185 (1973) chain + sprockets....just change all ?

Working my way through this bike with your great tips. Have been riding bike for 50 miles or so and only just occurred to me to look at chain. Well....on max with the adjusters and has a good 3 to 4cm play. Top of chain "jumps" when you wobble the lower and there is side-to-side movement.....so I guess all that speaks for itself.
I guess the obvious is just to replace both sprockets/chain.....all the cheapo suppliers seem to state "heavy duty"....seem to be very liberal with their descriptions.
The bike has the little plates to stop nut rotating....just flatten to remove and then bend back ?
Remove front drive sprocket first (chain on to hold in place) ?

Any tips greatly appreciated.....wish I'd learned all this when I was younger !

John (Worthing,UK).

Hi
DID chain and JT sprockets for me. The side to side movement on the drive sprocket is normal and necessary. Yes those are lock washers under the sprocket nuts just use a large flat screedriver to make room for the socket.

This could be just a case of chain being one link to long. It is hard to tell from your picture, but the sprocket doesn't look hooked from wear.
I don't replace sprockets every time I replace chain unless they show wear.
