Spark plug T500 B8HS <-> B9ES

Hello,

I had a visit from someone who looked into the hole where i mount the spark plug. He saw that the last 5 screw threads are black. He thinks my spark plug is not long enough. I have mounted the B7HS spark plug and he thinks i need to mount the B9ES. ( a longer one & better temperature resistented ). Is that possible? Does that mean I don't have an original culasse on the bike?

Thanks in advance!

Grtz

B7HS is short reach.it is the correct plug for the T500. consult manual for confirmation. Not sure of his recommendation.

Hi John,

If your heads are genuine TR heads they will be of the "centre plug/squish" type i.e. the spark plug hole is directly in the centre of the combustion chamber. When I responded to you on FB I assumed you had std. heads. My centre plug heads take the longer reach plugs (in my case NGK B10EGV) and have a thicker dome to the combustion chamber to allow the squish to be machined safely.

Cheers Geoff
