Can anyone give me some basic tips related to removing and replacing the kick start shaft oil seal for a T500 (located on left side of engine - can be seen after removing sprocket cover)? I have ordered the part. I do not think I have to split the cases to do this; so what is the best way to remove the old oil seal? And how about installation of a new one - any tips for installation that I should be aware of so that I do not damage the new seal?

Bump for this, looks like I have the same problem? I have gearbox oil dripping out from under the sprocket cover when the bike is hot, it drips like a leaky tap.

Had a similar leak but not quite as bad on my T350. Was the gear shift seal -- its lower in the crankcase & is submerged in the tranny oil.
Sorry I can't help you on tips for replacing the seal. Had a local bike shop do the repair. He didn't charge much so it couldn't have involved doing much.
Have no leaks now that he replaced the shifter seal.
MikGsxr, your leak might also be from the shifter seal.
